Compare the2025 Kia EV6VS 2024 Jaguar I-Pace

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Kia EV6 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the EV6 are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Kia EV6 has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The EV6 offers optional Parking Collision-Avoidance Reverse that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The EV6 (except Short Range) offers an optional Surround View Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The I-Pace only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the EV6 and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the EV6 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Jaguar covers the I-Pace. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the I-Pace ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

There are over 5 times as many Kia dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the EV6’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Kia vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Kia fourth in initial quality, above the industry average. With 25 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is ranked 15th.

The EV6 GT’s standard electric motors produces 247 more horsepower (641 vs. 394) and 56 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 512) than the I-Pace’s electric motors.

The EV6 GT handles at .92 G’s, while the I-Pace HSE pulls only .90 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The EV6 GT executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the I-Pace HSE (25.1 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 25.6 seconds @ .74 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the EV6’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (38.2 feet vs. 40.5 feet). The EV6 GT’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (39.2 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

The Kia EV6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 650 pounds less than the Jaguar I-Pace.

The EV6 has 1.5 inches more front legroom, .2 inches more front shoulder room, 4 inches more rear legroom and 1 inch more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the EV6’s rear seats recline. The I-Pace’s rear seats don’t recline.

Pulling a handle automatically lowers the EV6’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The I-Pace doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

Maximum trailer towing in the Jaguar I-Pace is limited to 1653 pounds. The EV6 offers up to a 2300 lbs. towing capacity.

The EV6 offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the rear seat, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The EV6 GT-Line/GT’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The I-Pace’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park and it doesn’t offer remote control parking.

The EV6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Insurance will cost less for the EV6 owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the EV6 will cost $3050 to $5020 less than the I-Pace over a five-year period.

The EV6 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the EV6 will retain 51.38% to 51.88% of its original price after five years, while the I-Pace only retains 47.85%.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the EV6 first among compact suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The I-Pace isn’t in the top three in its category.

The EV6 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2023. The I-Pace has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.

A group of representative automotive journalists from North America selected the EV6 as the 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year. The I-Pace has never been chosen.

The Kia EV6 outsold the Jaguar I-Pace by almost 10 to one during 2024.
