The RC’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the GranTurismo Folgore.

The RC has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the GranTurismo Folgore’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the RC has standard Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, helping the driver avoid collisions. Maserati charges extra for Rear Cross Path on the GranTurismo Folgore.

The RC has standard Safety Connect®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the RC and the GranTurismo Folgore have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive and rear parking sensors.

Lexus’ powertrain warranty covers the RC 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the GranTurismo Folgore. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the GranTurismo Folgore ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The RC’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are over 2 times as many Lexus dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the RC’s warranty.

The RC has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the GranTurismo Folgore; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better maneuverability, the RC’s turning circle is 6.5 feet tighter than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (34.2 feet vs. 40.7 feet). The RC AWD’s turning circle is 5.9 feet tighter than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (34.8 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The Lexus RC may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1100 to 1250 pounds less than the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore.

The RC is 10.2 inches shorter than the GranTurismo Folgore, making the RC easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The RC’s optional easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back when the door is unlocked or the ignition is switched off, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The RC’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them, but the driver can still raise and lower both of them with the lock engaged. Maserati does not offer a locking feature on the GranTurismo Folgore’s standard power windows.
