The MC20 offers optional Automated Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The DBS doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MC20’s standard Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The DBS doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The MC20 has standard SOS and Assist Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DBS doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the MC20 and the DBS have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

The MC20 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The DBS’ 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

There are over 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MC20’s warranty.

On the EPA test cycle the MC20 3.0 turbo V6 gets better fuel mileage than the DBS 5.2 turbo V12 (15 city/25 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The MC20 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DBS doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Maserati MC20 higher (4 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DBS (3). This means the MC20 produces up to 11.3 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DBS every 15,000 miles.

The MC20 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DBS doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The MC20’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The DBS doesn’t offer launch control.

The MC20 stops shorter than the DBS:

For better maneuverability, the MC20’s turning circle is 2 feet tighter than the DBS’ (38.7 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The Maserati MC20 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 700 to 800 pounds less than the Aston Martin DBS.

The MC20’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The DBS doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the MC20. The DBS doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The DBS doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the MC20 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DBS doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The MC20’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DBS has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the MC20 has a standard Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The DBS doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The Maserati MC20 has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Aston Martin charges extra for Homelink® on the DBS.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The DBS doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
