Both the Macan Electric and the Blazer EV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The Macan Electric comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Blazer EV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The Macan Electric’s corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the Blazer EV’s (12/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

Reliability

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Porsche 12 places higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

Engine

The Macan Electric’s standard electric motor produces 67 more horsepower (355 vs. 288) and 82 lbs.-ft. more torque (415 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors. The Macan 4 Electric’s standard electric motors produces 114 more horsepower (402 vs. 288) and 146 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors. The Macan 4S’ standard electric motors produces 221 more horsepower (509 vs. 288) and 271 lbs.-ft. more torque (604 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors. The Macan Turbo Electric’s standard electric motors produces 342 more horsepower (630 vs. 288) and 500 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Macan 4 Electric gets better mileage than the Blazer EV (107 city/89 hwy vs. 102 city/87 hwy MPGe).

Transmission

The Macan Electric’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer launch control.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Macan Electric’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Blazer EV:

The Macan Turbo Electric’s optional front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Blazer EV are solid, not vented.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Macan Electric has larger standard rear tires than the Blazer EV (285/45R20 vs. 255/60R19). The Macan Electric’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Blazer EV (295/40R21 vs. 275/45R21).

The Macan Electric’s standard 235/55R20 front and 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Blazer EV LT’s standard 60 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Blazer EV’s optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Macan Electric has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Blazer EV LT.

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Blazer EV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Macan Electric has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Blazer EV’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Macan Electric has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Macan Electric’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For greater off-road capability the Macan Turbo Electric has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Blazer EV (8.8 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is 1 inch higher than on the Blazer EV (8.9 vs. 7.9 inches).

Chassis

The Macan Electric is 3.9 inches shorter than the Blazer EV, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Macan Electric uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Macan Electric. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Towing

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Blazer EV’s (4409 vs. 1500 pounds).

Servicing Ease

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than Chevrolet. J.D. Power ranks Porsche second in service department satisfaction. With a 33% lower rating, Chevrolet is ranked 14th.

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory seat and mirrors in the Blazer EV RS, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Macan Electric’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Blazer EV’s passenger windows don’t close automatically.

The Macan Electric’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Blazer EV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Macan Electric has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Macan Electric also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Macan Electric’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Chevrolet charges extra for heated mirrors on the Blazer EV.

The Porsche Macan Electric has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The Macan Electric has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The Macan Electric offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Blazer EV.

The Macan Electric has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Blazer EV RS.

The Porsche Macan Electric has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Homelink® is only available on the Blazer EV RS.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Porsche Macan Electric has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

Model Availability

The Macan Electric is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
