For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Macan Electric have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The MINI Countryman SE doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Macan Electric are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The MINI Countryman SE doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Both the Macan Electric and the Countryman SE have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Porsche Macan Electric weighs 416 to 805 pounds more than the MINI Countryman SE. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are better in initial quality than MINI vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in initial quality. With 10 more problems per 100 vehicles, MINI is rated lower.

The Macan Electric’s standard electric motor produces 47 more horsepower (355 vs. 308) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (415 vs. 364) than the Countryman SE’s electric motors. The Macan 4 Electric’s standard electric motors produces 94 more horsepower (402 vs. 308) and 115 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 364) than the Countryman SE’s electric motors. The Macan 4S’ standard electric motors produces 201 more horsepower (509 vs. 308) and 240 lbs.-ft. more torque (604 vs. 364) than the Countryman SE’s electric motors. The Macan Turbo Electric’s standard electric motors produces 322 more horsepower (630 vs. 308) and 469 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 364) than the Countryman SE’s electric motors.

The Macan Turbo Electric’s optional front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Countryman SE are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the Macan Electric has larger standard tires than the Countryman SE (F:235/55R20 & R:285/45R20 vs. 225/55R18). The Macan Electric’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Countryman SE (F:255/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. 245/45R19).

The Macan Electric’s standard 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Countryman SE’s standard 55 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 255/40R22 front and 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile than the Countryman SE’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Macan Electric has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Countryman SE. The Macan Electric’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 19-inch wheels optional on the Countryman SE.

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Countryman SE, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Macan Electric has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Countryman SE’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Macan Electric has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Macan Electric’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Macan Electric’s wheelbase is 7.9 inches longer than on the Countryman SE (113.9 inches vs. 106 inches).

For greater off-road capability the Macan Turbo Electric has a 1.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Countryman SE (8.8 vs. 7.4 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is 1.5 inches higher than on the Countryman SE (8.9 vs. 7.4 inches).

The front grille of the Macan Electric uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Countryman SE’s (4409 vs. 2646 pounds).

A Trailer Stability Management is standard on the Macan Electric, using the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. A trailer sway program costs extra on the Countryman SE.

The Macan Electric has a higher standard payload capacity than the Countryman SE (1111 vs. 1025 lbs.).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than MINI. J.D. Power ranks Porsche second in service department satisfaction. With a 10% lower rating, MINI is ranked fourth.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat and mirrors optional in the Countryman SE, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Macan Electric’s standard Comfort Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Comfort Access standard on the Countryman SE doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Countryman SE’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Macan Electric’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

Both the Macan Electric and the Countryman SE have standard heated front seats. The Macan Electric also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Countryman SE.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Macan Electric keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

Compared to the MINI Countryman SE, the Porsche Macan Electric eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries with its standard integrated Homelink® universal remote controlled from the rear view mirror.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Macan Electric is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Countryman SE doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
