Compare the2025 BMW iXVS 2025 Lotus Eletre

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The iX has a standard Active Park Distance Control that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Eletre doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the iX and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The iX comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Eletre’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The iX comes with free roadside assistance for 4 years unlimited miles. BMW will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

The iX’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the Eletre’s (12 vs. 8 years).

BMW pays for scheduled maintenance on the iX for 3 years and 36,000 miles. BMW will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Eletre.

There are over 9 times as many BMW dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the iX’s warranty.

The iX xDrive50’s standard electric motors produces 41 lbs.-ft. more torque (564 vs. 523) than the Eletre’s standard electric motors. The iX M60’s standard electric motors produces 85 lbs.-ft. more torque (811 vs. 726) than the Eletre R’s standard electric motors.

For greater off-road capability the iX has a 1.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Eletre (8.7 vs. 7.6 inches), allowing the iX to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The iX is 5.9 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the iX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The iX has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Eletre with its rear seat up (35.5 vs. 24 cubic feet). The iX has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Eletre with its rear seat folded (77.9 vs. 54 cubic feet).

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the iX has a standard rear wiper. The Eletre doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Laser headlights, optional on the iX, produce their light by firing blue lasers through phosphorus, a process that uses one-half the power of the Eletre’s LED headlights. Laser headlights can have double the range of LEDs with a much smaller surface area.
